Mapping the Music

Pre Metro is proud to have supported the newly launched Stourbridge Music Scene Map — a creative initiative that celebrates the town’s rich musical heritage and vibrant cultural spirit.

Led by local creatives and supported by Councillor Andrew Tromans, the project highlights the venues, bands, record shops, and individuals that helped shape Stourbridge’s influential role in the UK music scene.

Designed by the talented Stacy Hammond, the map provides a fun and informative guide to the town’s musical legacy.

“[The map] captured Stourbridge’s heritage as a hub of music and creativity… by showcasing some of what Stourbridge has to offer,” said Councillor Andrew Tromans on social media.

“Much like our work on the Stourbridge Shuttle and the proposed Dasher project, this map is about celebrating what makes our town unique and accessible – in this case, through the lens of music,” added Steve Jasper, Chairman at Pre Metro.

With additional support from Direct2Print Online and David Sheppard, the map serves as both a tribute to the past and an invitation for locals and visitors to explore Stourbridge’s creative identity.

The Stourbridge Shuttle even makes a special appearance on the map — driven by local mascot George the Stourbridge Junction cat, a light-hearted nod to our ‘purr-fect’ seven-day service.

We look forward to seeing the map inspire new interest in the town.

Free copies of the map are now available at Record Culture and various locations across the town centre.
