New Timetable from Monday 18th January 2021
Face coverings have become compulsory for people using public transport in England.
Coronavirus: Travel Advice
For full details, please visit West Midlands Railway’s website for details of how to travel responsibly and safely on the railway network.
On the Stourbridge Shuttle, please remember the following:
- Wear a face covering when travelling on The Shuttle. This is compulsory, but some people may be exempt. Our drivers do not have to wear a face covering, as they are protected in the cab area of the vehicle. For further details, please see https://www.westmidlandsrailway.co.uk/face-coverings
- Maintain social distancing at all times. 2 metres is best, although 1 metre-plus is acceptable while wearing a face covering.
- Be aware of where you can sit on board. Up to 15 passengers may travel on board. If you require assistance, please ask our on-board crew.
- Check our timetable. We are currently running a revised service, which still operates every 10 minutes, but finishes earlier than normal, early evening. We also suspend service several times per day to deep clean the railcar. Check our timetable
- Carry hand sanitiser, and wash your hands before and after travelling.
- Please don’t travel if you feel unwell.
Let’s travel safely this Summer.
Hello and welcome to Pre Metro.
We’re a Train Operating Company – the smallest in the UK! And we’re doing something rather special – every day….

In partnership with West Midlands Railway, we operate the Stourbridge Shuttle – the link between Stourbridge Town and Stourbridge Junction. It’s the shortest branch line in the country – possibly in Europe – but our unique operation doesn’t stop there.
Using innovative technology, we’re providing the best-ever service this line has seen in its 140-plus year history. Our operation is clean, green, frequent, highly reliable and easy-access. We’re also local. Based in Stourbridge, our dedicated staff all live in the local area – we’re a real part of the local community!
Since we commenced 7-day operation of the service in 2009, we’ve grown patronage, increased the frequency, cut emissions, reduced service operation costs and revived the Sunday service on the line for the first time since 1914! Reliability of the service currently stands between 99.7 – 100%.
Our Stourbridge Shuttle operation is a success – contact us to discuss if we can do the same for your local rail operation.
Hello and welcome to Pre Metro
Our unique Ultra Light Rail service uses environmentally-friendly railcars and provides cost-effective local transport links. We’re ultra-reliable too – our Stourbridge service currently operates at 99.8% reliability; the best Train Operating Company figures anywhere in the UK.
