The Stourbridge Shuttle has been celebrating after it broke it’s own record for passenger numbers for the sixth successive year.
In the year-to-end May 2016, approximately 600,000 journeys were made on the Stourbridge branch line – the highest number to date. It represents an increase of 27% over the first full year of operation (to May 2011).
A total of over 3.5 million passengers have used the innovative link since the service was initiated in 2009 using the two LPG/flywheel-powered railcars, produced locally in Cradley Heath by Parry People Movers.

2011 – 471,000
2012 – 481,000
2013 – 527,000
2014 – 553,000
2015 – 595,000
2016 – 600,000
