The third annual Stourbridge Military Vehicle Parade took place on the 9th of November, 2024

Organised by local resident and Shuttle driver, David Spruce, crowds from across the region came to support the British Legion’s Poppy Appeal and witness the spectacle.

With the largest turnout yet, this year’s event showcased around 40 historic vehicles, including tanks, trucks, and jeeps from all over the Midlands, all paying tribute ahead of Remembrance Sunday.

The parade began at 11 am at the top of Stourbridge High Street, led by The Shirley Pipe Band, and was joined by local dignitaries, including the Mayor of Dudley, and Councillor Hilary Bills.

Following its route down Market Street, Bell Street, and onto the ring road, the parade finished at the Bonded Warehouse on Canal Street, where vehicles remained on display until the late afternoon for the public to admire.

Adding to the spirit of remembrance, local shops took part in a best-dressed window competition, which we sponsored.

The Mary Stevens Hospice shop in Victoria Passage earned the top prize of £150, while Eyewise Opticians in Market Street received the second prize of £100 for Peppers Pet Rescue, and Card Stop on High Street won £50 for The Mary Stevens Hospice.

The display competition brought a sense of community pride and charitable support to the parade, underscoring Stourbridge’s commitment to remembrance and local causes.

As was the case last year, we are always proud to support local events such as this one, which bring the Stourbridge community together and draws in residents from across Dudley.
