Pre Metro and Side By Side at local event

Stourbridge Junction Comes Alive with Charity Initiative

In a spirited effort, the renowned Stourbridge Shuttle, in collaboration with George the Junction Cat and West Midland Trains, raised money for the Side By Side Theatre Company on October 10th.

Residents and passengers were invited to receive exclusive tote bags filled with freebies or specially designed mugs with every cash donation.

The charitable endeavour drew in fans of the Shuttle and George alike, warming hearts and raising an impressive £450 in support of Side By Side.

For those who frequent the station, George the Stourbridge Junction Cat is a beloved figure.

His surprise appearance on Platform 1 drew smiles from adults and children alike.

The limited edition mugs and totes, tailored exclusively for this occasion, vanished in no time, becoming treasured souvenirs for those fortunate to claim them.

Charlie Merrell, PR and Marketing Officer at Pre Metro worked with Stourbridge Station manager Simone Carter to set up this event. He stated:

“It was great to work with George as well as my diligent colleagues at Pre Metro and West Midland Trains. Thank you so much to everyone who came to visit our little stand to donate.”

“Honestly, the Side By Side students truly stole the show when they came to help out. Their warm smiles, vibrant energy, and enthusiastic passion to create awareness for their upcoming shows stood out, illustrating the heart and soul of this charitable cause!”

The event showcased how collaboration for a wonderful cause like Side By Side often brings out the best in the local community.

Pre Metro are already hopeful to prepare another event with the charity in 2024.
