Quarry Bank Tennis Club has announced a major sponsorship with an award-winning local transport operator that will net it a much-needed financial boost.
Local rail operator Pre Metro Operations Ltd – operator of the popular Stourbridge Shuttle service – will provide the sponsorship over a 4-year timescale, which will allow for major improvements to the facility.
Paul Julian, Quarry Bank Tennis Club Treasurer said;
“We are delighted with this arrangement and are very grateful to Pre Metro. The deal underpins the financial stability of the club and allows us to plan for future improvements to the facilities and clubhouse”.
Phil Evans, Pre Metro Operations Ltd Chief Executive said;
“There is synergy between a healthy lifestyle and the environmental and health benefits provided by efficient public transport and its use. Our Stourbridge Shuttle operation has one of the lowest carbon footprints in the country, and we’re proud to play our part in keeping the town clean and green”.
Quarry Bank Tennis Club celebrated its centenary in 2012 and has been at the current location in Talbots Lane, Quarry Bank, since 1932.
Pre Metro operate the Stourbridge Junction to Stourbridge Town rail service in partnership with London Midland using environmentally-friendly light railcars and provides a vital business and community link for Stourbridge town centre to the National Rail Network. Over 1000 journeys are run each week and more than 50,000 passenger trips are made in a 4 week period. The company has won several industry awards for its innovative operation.
