Stourbridge’s award-winning Ultra Light Rail Shuttle has been given a facelift, as it celebrates one of it’s most reliable periods during the ten years of operation on the line.
As part of the rebranding operation into West Midlands Railway livery, The Shuttle – operated by Pre Metro Operations in partnership – has received a bespoke version of the orange/purple design. The company also worked with West Midlands Railway and Sam Jessup Design to provide some new interior panels, which celebrate Stourbridge as a town, as part of it’s commitment to working in the community it serves. Pre Metro also supports the recently formed Friends of Stourbridge Stations community group.
The Stourbridge Shuttle operation, between the Town’s Junction and Town railway stations, has hit new heights with it’s reliability figures. Already one of the UK’s most reliable public transport operations, the service recorded 100% reliability in three consecutive reporting periods between March-May 2019. The Shuttle recorded 16,286 journeys, all on time, with no cancellation of service.
Pre Metro Operations Chief Executive Phil Evans said;
“We pride ourselves on serving the local community in Stourbridge. Working with our partners West Midlands Railway, we are pleased to have achieved this high level of reliability, which is down to the commitment of our team of dedicated drivers and engineers. We continue to strive for excellence with our Ultra Light Rail operation”.
Pre Metro Operations has been Highly Commended runners up twice in recent years at the Global Light Rail Awards.
